ZALAKAROS
Cycling
In recent years Zalakaros has put great emphasis on cyclists. A cycle path runs through the town, the paths linking neighbouring villages have been renewed, and a cycling centre with bike rental has opened. Heading east, you ride on flat terrain towards Keszthely and Hévíz, passing the Kápolnapuszta Buffalo Reserve and the Kis-Balaton. Heading west, you have to tackle the slopes of the Zala hills, but you cycle through wonderful places.
One of the biggest events in Zalakaros is the Tour de Zalakaros cycle race, with decades of history and thousands of participants, where everyone from families with small children to hobby cyclists and professionals can compete over various distances and enjoy pleasant days in Zalakaros.
Cycling Centre address: 8749 Zalakaros, Gyógyfürdő tér 8.
