This larger town, 19 km from Zalakaros, is of interest to guests mainly for shopping. Nagykanizsa has stores of almost all the major chains, where you can do your bigger shopping. 

The town's market hall is also worth a visit: you can buy fruit and vegetables directly from local producers, and the butchers offer a wide selection. On Sunday mornings a huge flea market is held in the market hall car park, where the savvy can find real treasures.

Several independent and brand car repair shops operate in the town, so any technical problem can be fixed quickly.

While in Nagykanizsa, it is worth stopping for a coffee or a quick lunch on the renovated main square.
